Winter Miracle in Texas

Like many other Texans, we woke up Friday to see the ranch under a blanket of snow! A true rarity for south-east Texas, we still can’t get over the beauty of this winter wonderland!

Rescued Red Oak

Today we rescued and milled a beautiful Cherry Bark Red Oak Tree that was hit by lightning. This beauty is 6 feet in diameter and lived for over 250 years!

Cedar Posts

Cedar beams were cut and milled out on our ranch, cut to spec lengths, and then assembled as a perfect fit for this exterior awning.

Another great day of milling! 100+ year old Pecan trees were uprooted by a storm and will now be used for dining tables and more!

Bringing New Life

This June we were able to mill some of our dead Cedar and Oak trees out here on the ranch into beautiful slabs for garden benches and  tables. We love giving these these old dead trees a new life again!

Mississippi Success

Today we head back from Mississippi after milling the beautiful rescued Red Oak from our last post. Now that we have the lumber and plenty of ideas for it, we are ready to get started on some exciting new projects! But first, a long drive back to Texas!!

F2M in Las Vegas

We had a great time in Vegas, where we attended the AWFS Fair full of so many amazing products and tools to help get us inspired for new projects. Here you can see an incredible Alaskan King Bed made with a giant live slab head board created by GL Veneers.

A Solid Foundation

Farm to Market Woodworks LLC., started out in an open barn and as business grew, it became important to build an air-conditioned facility that could support more diverse projects. Today we began pouring the foundation that will soon house the 2,400 sq ft workshop.

Building the Brand

Being an avid woodworker as a child and watching his father, who was a trained cabinet maker from Europe, Andre was always surrounded in woodworking in one form or another. Building tables and crafts as a hobby to re-building the inside of 2 of his homes, he decided to take his love for the craft and turn it into a full-time business. As the beginning of many successful business’, this idea began as a discussion over food and drinks and took off from there…the only thing missing was a napkin to write everything on!

The name came easy……why not create, craft and build with material from the ranch and then take to market for sale? And so came the name “Farm To Market Woodworks”
